The BSN is designed for Registered Nurses to be prepared to advance into administrative and supervisory positions in the nursing and health care fields.
The program is designed as a "2+2" program, where program applicants must have earned an associate's degree in Nursing and have current Florida licensure in nursing. The BSN program will provide nurses with the education to further their professional career in nursing and emphasize skills in advanced patient care, community health, leadership, management and ethics. The program will interface seamlessly with Palm Beach State's existing Associate in Science degree in Nursing and provide students with a complete professional nursing education.
The first group of students were admitted and started in January of 2012, a second group of students will be admitted for August of 2012 start. Application Deadline July 1,2012

The following program learning outcomes are skills that students will learn as the result of completing this degree.
Upon completion the Baccalaureate prepared nurse will:
- Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of professional development as it relates to the nurses role in critical thinking in the delivery of health care.
- Synthesize knowledge from the disciplines of nursing, the sciences, and the humanities as the basis for decision-making to improve client outcomes.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary teams in the health care arena in implementing the nursing process to deliver safe effective care.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care based on evidence from research and nursing practice.
- Demonstrate nursing leadership skills within the healthcare organization and apply management principles.
- Integrate professional standards and ethical principles into nursing practice.
- Evaluate the impact of trends and issues affecting health and access to health care.
- Incorporate teaching/learning principles in promoting health for diverse individuals, families and populations.
- Advocate for persons, groups and communities based on awareness of ethical and legal issues affecting health care.
- Integrate technology in planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care in a patient centered environment.
- Advocate for the nursing profession related to health legislation and regulation.
