CCE - Health Sciences

Palm Beach State College offers high quality courses at affordable rates. Advanced Training courses for the Health Sciences areas are designed to provide specialized training for the individual wanting to increase their knowledge or move forward in their career. These courses are non-credit with many offering CEUs for regulatory professions.

Courses are offered on site or online. Palm Beach State is an official American Heart Association Training Center and a Florida CE Broker-Approved Provider.

Palm Beach State College is an approved provider through the Florida Department of Health Division of Medical Quality Assurance.

Health Information Management

Online Exam Prep Courses - These 25-hour, 100% online courses prepare you for examinations that lead to industry certifications from AHIMA (American Health Information Management Association) and NAHQ (National Association for Healthcare Quality). All courses are instructor-guided.

Please Note: These certifications require education and experience in the health information field. Check with AHIMA and NAHQ for specific education and work requirements prior to enrolling in an exam prep course. If you are new to the field, we recommend our college credit programs.

ICD-10 Online Courses - Our instructor-guided, 100% online courses take about 25 hours to complete. Each course includes the new documentation requirements, updated coding guidelines and case studies.

Please Note: Knowledge of medical coding, anatomy and physiology are necessary to successfully complete the ICD-10 courses. If you are new to the field, we recommend our college credit programs.

Students taking classes through Health Sciences and Public Safety Corporate and Continuing Education (CCE) must attend all class sessions in order to be awarded CEUs and to have them uploaded into CE Broker. Attendance will be taken at each class meeting and it is the student’s responsibility to sign the attendance roster at each session.
