The Public Safety division of the Center for Health Sciences and Public Safety Advanced Education and Training at Palm Beach State College provides courses for certified emergency services professionals (Fire and EMS) designed to improve and expand their level of knowledge and skills as well as coursework needed to maintain their certification.
As an American Heart Association Training Center, the College offers Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support classes for health care professionals.
Trauma training classes are available, as are EMT and Paramedic Refresher classes for those needing to renew their state certification.
The College also partners with Palm Beach County Emergency Management to offer basic Community Emergency Response Team training to residents interested in forming CERT teams to be a resource within their community in emergency and disaster situations.
Advanced classes for fire service professionals are also available, including Technical Rescue classes such as Vehicle Extrication, Rope Rescue Operations and Confined Space Technician. Customized training programs can be developed for agencies interested in providing training on a specific fire or EMS topic for their personnel.
