About Palm Beach State
General
- Founded in 1933 as Florida's first public junior college
- Merged with Roosevelt Junior College in 1965
- Changed name from Palm Beach Junior College to Palm Beach Community College in 1988
- Became Palm Beach State College on Jan. 12, 2010
- Governed by a five-member District Board of Trustees appointed by the governor
- Sixth largest of the 28 colleges comprising the Florida College System
- Began offering its first bachelor's degree in fall 2009

The College also has a satellite location in the Count and Countess de Hoernle Historic Building in West Palm Beach. It houses The Institute of Excellence in Early Care and Education, which provides training and support to early childhood educators in Palm Beach County.
