Faculty Syllabi Creator Tool

Introducing the New Faculty Syllabi Creator Tool

As we know the syllabus is one of the most important documents our students will encounter in their courses.

This makes the course syllabus vital to course, student, and program success. The Faculty Syllabi Creator Tool is important to the college as it assists in maintaining consistent course syllabi. This is turn communicates and aligns course and college policies, and guarantees that outcomes and objectives supports those polices.

This Tool is designed to integrate with your Faculty Home Page once published – alleviating the need to manually upload your syllabus.

Master Pages provide an easy way to create and reuse course information that you need to appear on more than one syllabus—for example a Required Textbook. If you are teaching three courses of ENC1100, the required textbook only needs to be added to one Master page.

The key concept here is that a specific Master Page is typically shared by more than one syllabus. By creating the Master Pages (Textbook, Grading Scale, Class Policies, etc.) for your syllabus, you will not need to create the page again, but you will be able to apply the Master page(s) to all courses or specific course IDs each term.

Think of the Master Page as the map of the Lake Worth campus, if you are giving directions to an individual to meet you in 7 different buildings on the campus, how many maps do you need to give the individual?  One, right? The same goes for creating the Required Textbook Master Page, if you create one and assign the course Id (ex: ENC1100), you only need to create it once.
