How to Register for Workshops

Use EmployeeWeb to Register for the Workshops listed below. To Learn How to Register or Withdraw via Employee Web, please view the Instructions for Registering for a Workshop video. If you have any questions, contact Jeannine Burgess at burgessj@palmbeachstate.edu

It is critical that you register for any workshop at least 24 hours in advance in order to provide enough time for the presenter to have enough handouts.

*NOTE: The Online/Webinar workshops meet online using Collaborate, the day before the workshop you will receive an email with the link to join the session. We will not meet on campus only online.

"Mee Too" Polling App

Duration: 1.5 hour 

Description:

This workshop focuses on an educational app that helps encourage students to talk, discuss and learn using their mobile device. Meetoo captivates your class with Questions that sparks interest and discussions. Students will never want to miss your class when using Meetoo. Transform meetings and classes with real-time polling. Get everyone involved and find out what they’re thinking. Meetoo makes meetings more fun and ultimately more effective.

This workshop explains how to create, evaluate, and integrate Meetoo into your course curriculum.

Gamification

Duration:  1.5 hours

Description:

“Games have become a popular way to encourage student engagement both in the classroom and within online courses. In this workshop we will focus on a popular tool for gamifying your lessons called Kahoot!” During this course, you will create Kahoot! accounts, and develop your own Kahoot! quizzes. Although Kahoot! games can be used for ice-breakers and other team-building activities, when used for academic purposes, it is important to directly correlate the game with the current learning objectives being assessed. Gamification is a method of teaching using many software tools.

Infographics

Duration:  1.5 hours

Description:  

The point of an infographic is to take complex information and make it easier to take in through graphical reinforcement. Use of visuals like infographics can be quite beneficial to both students and teachers. They allow the creation of lessons around a central image, something that the entire class can be focused on as the professor speaks and for online learning infographics present data in a way that will promote content literacy.

This workshop explains how to create, evaluate, and integrate infographics into your course curriculum.

360° Cameras & zSpace VR Experience

Duration:  1.5 hours

Description:

This workshop will show you the unique specialized hardware that the college has installed in the Loxahatchee campus and the biology lab in Boca. We’ll walk through the hardware and calibration and learn how to configure the individual settings and features to allow you to create your own lessons. We’ll demonstrate the difference between the AR – Augmented reality and the VR – Virtual reality modes on the zSpace stations. We’ll take a look at 360 videos that are recorded with a special camera or a group of cameras in every direction at the same time. Both YouTube and the Colleges’ Kaltura video hosting service support playback of 360 videos.
