Laurie W. Cotton became an adjunct faculty member at Palm Beach State College (then Palm Beach Community College) in 2007 after leaving a similar assignment at Broward College. She has taught social studies to students in Grades 6 through college and currently teaches history courses (AMH2010/AMH2020) in the Social Sciences Department. Mrs. Cotton earned a M. A. in history at Florida Atlantic University (Boca Raton, FL) in 2005 and a certificate in history and politics at Exeter College, Oxford University (U.K.) in 2002. She completed a M. Ed. In secondary education from the University of Massachusetts (Boston,MA) in 1990 and a B. A. in history from Salem State University (Salem, MA) in 1980. Formerly the social studies curriculum administrator for the School District of Palm Beach County, she has experience with teacher professional development, curriculum design, and assessment. Currently a school-based administrator at Royal Palm Beach High School, Mrs. Cotton lives in Lake Worth with her husband and daughter.
