I have a Master of Science in Agronomy and Management from the University of Philippines at Los Banos, Philippines. I obtained my Master of Science and PhD in Biological Sciences specializing in Cell and Molecular Biology from Vrije Universitet Brussels, Belgium.
I worked as an Executive Officer of Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training of Government of Nepal and also taught Plant Breeding and Genetics courses as an Associate Professor at The Institute of Agriculture and Animal Sciences at Tribhuvan University, Nepal for about four years. In 1997, I moved to the USA as a Fulbright Scholar to pursue my research in citrus viruses at the University of Florida at Lake Alfred, Florida.
As Senior Scientist at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, I worked in cell and tissue culture, transformation of oat crops, and also coordinated international research and educational projects. I have published numerous scientific articles in international journals and made presentations at international conferences. I also coauthored the book, A Laboratory Guide for Cellular & Molecular Plant Biology, Birkhauser publication, and was a co-founder of a biotech company named CropTailor AB in Sweden.
In 2009, I moved back to Florida and taught biological science courses at Polk State College, Winter Haven. For the last five years, I have been teaching biology, microbiology, environmental conservation, biofuels,and sugar technology courses at multiple campuses of Palm Beach State College.I also served as an advisor to the Biology Club at Palm Beach State College at Lake Worth for about two and half years.
Besides teaching, I am also involved in community activities.I serve in the Greater Lantana Educational Board and the Architectural Review Board of the Town of South Palm Beach. As a certified Yoga Instructor, I also give Yoga lessons at multiple locations.
