HESI Admission Assessment Exam

The HESI A² exam is the official Pre-Admission Exam accepted by the Practical Nursing program. It is the replacement for the TEAS starting with application submitted for January 1, 2016 and thereafter. Students MUST obtain a minimum overall score of 75 completed for all 9 areas of the exam and a score of 75% in the Math section. The cumulative score (Anatomy and Physiology, Biology, Chemistry, Grammar, Math, Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary and General Knowledge, Learning Style Inventory, and Personality Traits Profile) will be used to determine a student’s score.

Students can study for the HESI A2 exam by purchasing the HESI Admission Assessment Exam Review (3rd edition) study guide. It is located a most major book retailers. Students can also obtain free HESI practice questions to prepare for the exam.

Students can also register for the following approved non-credit courses:
NRO0161 – Hesi Admission Exam Review Language Arts
NRO0162 – Hesi Admission Exam Review Math Science

The HESI A² exam may be taken 3 times during a calendar year with scores at least 61 days apart. The test is valid for 2 years. The test may be taken at any of the Palm Beach State College testing centers, as well as any outside testing centers that carry the nine (9) section HESI A² exam, in order to be considered for admission to the Practical Nursing Program. There is a $60 fee for this exam. Payment must be made in person at a Palm Beach State College Cashier’s Office. Receipt must be presented to the test center on the day of testing along with a valid photo ID. No exceptions.
