As of January 1, 2014, the Pro-calc Test will be discontinued by the Elsevier,
the test manufacturer.
Because of this, no student (in program or pre-nursing) will be required to take the
pro-calc for any reason after January 1st.
Any pre-nursing students who wish to apply for the June 1, 2014 deadline or beyond need to adhere to the new guidelines for the replacement for the pro-calc requirement. Pre-nursing students must now achieve at least an 80 on the math section of the HESI exam as well as the 80 minimum overall score. No extra or special considerations will be given to students who achieve a higher score that the 80 on the math section of the HESI. Students will still receive points, however, on their applications for their overall HESI exam scores. Students are also asked to please review their information session packets for the point breakdown as it relates to the overall HESI exam scores. All previous valid scores that have not yet expired will be considered for this new change. The HESI math requirement will take into effect for the fall 2014 deadline of June 1, 2014.
Nursing students who are entering into their first and second semesters of the RN program should discuss pro-calc replacement requirements with their semester instructors.
Any additional questions regarding the HESI math requirement or the discontinuation of the pro-calc can be answered at a nursing information session or by calling the Nursing Office at (561) 868-3412.
