It’s FREE, attendance is VOLUNTARY, and students of all skill levels benefit from it.

Supplemental Instruction (SI)

A program of structured study sessions that targets courses where large numbers of students withdraw or receive a grade of D or F. The sessions are conducted by students, SI Leaders, who already have successfully completed the targeted courses, and who attend the same classes again, with the same instructors.

Technology-based SI (TSI)

Developed to assist students enrolled in distance-learning courses. TSI students meet with their TSI Leader via chat rooms at scheduled session times throughout the term.

The SI program has proven so successful that it has grown to include many more courses, including but not limited to mathematics, science, foreign languages, and economics.
