What kinds of classes do you want to take?

  • If you want to take "non-credit" (continuing education) courses, CLICK HERE and follow the steps to register for Non-credit courses.
  • If you want to take "college credit" (degree or non-degree) or "vocational credit" (certificate) courses, follow the procedures below for College Credit and PSAV.

How to apply for Florida Residency for Tuition Purposes?

College Credit and PSAV

Step 1:  Complete an online Application for Admission.

               IMPORTANT - International (F-1 Visa) Student must download and print the Application for Admission (PDF).  The appplication can be mailed to the Office of International Admissions and Recruitment, Mail Station 13, 4200 Congress Avenue, Lake Worth, FL 33461 or faxed to (561) 868-3623. 

Step 2:  Pay Application Fee (non-refundable)

                  $30.00  
                  $75.00 (U.S. currency) for international students (F-1, I-20 students only)

Step 3:  Have Transcripts Sent to Palm Beach State College
All credit degree-seeking students and certificate-seeking students whose program requires high school completion must submit official transcripts. All transcripts should be received prior to orientation and registration.

Step 4:  Submit Placement Test Scores
All degree-seeking students, as well as non-degree-seeking and transfer students wishing to take Gordon Rule writing and mathematics courses, who have not successfully completed college-level math and/or English, must furnish official test scores from ACT, SAT, CPT, or PERT prior to registration. Test scores are valid for two years from the date the test was taken. If you have not yet taken one of the placement tests listed, contact any campus Testing Center.

Step 5:  Attend Orientation
Orientation is required of all first-time-in-college degree-seeking students before registration of classes.

Step 6:  We recommend you apply for Financial Aid early. Visit Palm Beach State's Financial Aid Web page and complete the FAFSA form online.

Conditions for Admission (Acceptance) Information
Upon completion of all forms, and assuming eligibility, the applicant will receive a Conditions of Admissions letter with his/her Student ID and Password from the Admissions Office. Limited or selected Admission programs require at second step in the admissions process.

"Non-Degree Seeking" Status
Students who have been admitted for credit courses may classify themselves as non-degree (credits will be granted for courses completed). The Non-degree status may be used only in those cases where it is not necessary for the student's previous academic records to be on file. Students may take up to 21 credit hours as a non-degree-seeking student. The non-degree status shall not be used with degree seeking students, certificate-seeking students, students seeking any type of financial aid (social security, veteran benefits, federal grant scholarships, etc.), or by international students on an F-1 visa. Non-degree seeking students are not eligible for financial aid.
