Palm Beach State College offers a variety of early care and education courses in continuing education designed to enhance the knowledge, skills and professional development of those working in the childcare and afterschool field.

Some of the areas of focus for the continuing education courses are VPK performance standards, early literacy, preschool curriculum, infant/toddler curriculum, afterschool and leadership to name a few. Students seeking more specialized training can attend one of the following courses:

• Advancing Youth Development (AYD)
• Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten Education Standards (VPK)
• Emergent Literacy in the VPK Classroom
• Infant/Toddler Curriculum Series
• Preschool Curriculum Series
• Director Training Series
• Trainer Approval Series

Many of the continuing education course content areas meet the criteria to fulfill one of the requirements for renewal of certifications, such as, FCCPC, ECPC or Director Credential.
