The "Boys of Summer" moved their early season record to 5-1 as they defeated Broward 5-4 on Wednesday evening at home. Palm Beach started slow as they allowed 4 runs in the top of the first but after that the Panthers tightened their pitching and defense and clawed back to win for the 5th time in 6 games.

With a 6-2 victory over St. Pete College, the Panthers baseball team won the 2012 First Pitch Classic Baseball Tournament in St. Pete this past weekend. Freshman left fielder Ryan Church was named the tournament MVP, batting .429 for the 4 games. The Panthers defeated the 2011 state champions Chipola College and the 2010 state champions State College of Florida on Friday and Saturday. Sophomore pitcher Brandon Welch pitched 5 no hit innings on Friday, while striking out the first 5 batters he faced.

The Panther baseball team ended their season earlier than they would have hoped as they fell to Miami Dade (5-4) in the Southern Conference Tourney. Palm Beach never trailed until the bottom of the ninth when Dade plated the winning run on a 1 out double to move into the championship game against Indian River. The Panthers finished their season with a 26-20 record and 12 and 12 in the Southern Conference.

The Panther baseball team crept closer to the 3rd seed in the Conference as they took 2 of 3 games from the league leaders over the weekend. After suffering a disappointing loss on Friday to Indian River (4-3), the Panthers responded with two hard earned victories on Saturday (6-4) at Indian River and Sunday (5-3) against Broward. Currently the "boys of summer" are in 4th place with a 9-10 Southern Conference record while Miami Dade is in third at 11-9. Indian River and Broward are currently in a dead heat for first with an 11-7 record. The Panthers have 5 regular season games left and control their own destiny as they take on Brevard 3 times and Miami Dade twice to complete the regular portion of their campaign.

The "Boys of Summer" stayed in the thick of the conference race as they defeated first place Broward on Wednesday evening in Lake Worth. Solid pitching and timely hitting propelled the Panthers to victory. With 8 conference games remaining, 3 games separate the first place team from the 4th place squad. The Panthers will take to the field again on Friday at home in a critical match up with Indian River who is in a first place tie with Broward for the league lead. game time is at 4pm.

The Panthers "Boys of Summer" continued to play well as they won their 6th straight game defeating Broward Tuesday night, 5-3. Nick Zaharion last week's FCCAA player of the week went 2-5 with 2 RBI's. Ashley Bulluck, Alex Blodgett and Ken Sharpe pitched well for Palm Beach State. The Panthers are currently 10-2 and ranked #3 in the State of Florida.

The Palm Beach State Men's baseball team continued their perfect record at home with a 3 game sweep of Hillsborough over the weekend (12-5, 14-8 & 10-3). In Friday's win Nick Zaharion went 3-5 with 2 home runs. Joe Sharkey went 205 with 5 RBI's in Saturday's first game and Nick Zaharion went 3-4 with 2 runs scored in Saturday's second victory. The Panthers are a perfect 9-0 at home.

The "Boys of Summer" continued their outstanding play at home as they won for the 6th straight time defeating Northwood on Wednesday evening 19-0. In the process both Joey Todd and Orlando Hernandez both had 4 hits for the Panthers. Alex Blodgett, Ryan Carter and Travis Connolly combined to pitch the shutout. PBSC is now 6-2.

Palm Beach State defeated Northwood on Wednesday night by a score of 4-3. Third baseman Dan Glevenyak went 3 for 4 and scored 2 runs. James Tornabene was the winning pitcher. The Panthers are now 4-0.

The Panther "Boys of Summer" started off their 2011 season in good fashion last week as they defeated Northwood University on Friday (2-0), and Seminole State on Saturday and Sunday (10-9 in 12 innings, 10-7). Winning pitchers for Palm Beach State were Alex Blodgett on Friday, James Tornabene on Saturday and Alex Koji on Sunday. The Panthers will host Northwood today, Wednesday Feb 2 before taking to the road this weekend for games Friday At Polk State and Saturday and Sunday at Hillsborough.

For the first time since 1984, the Palm Beach State College men's baseball team won the Southern Conference championship outright with a Friday win @ Brevard. The Panthers chose the right time to come up with one of their best offensive innings in a clutch situation as they put up a straight number and a crooked number in a 12 run 8th inning on Friday April 23. At the time of the outburst the "Boys of Summer" were down 6-1. The offensive explosion insured a victory and they went on to defeat Brevard 19-6. To back that up the Panthers came back home and finished the regular portion of the season with 10-0 and 3-0 victories on Saturday.
Palm Beach State will open up State tournament play with a 10am game on Thursday May 6 in Lakeland, Florida. The Panthers are currently ranked #2 in the State and #10 in the country.

Three up with 4 to play! The Panthers took 2 of 3 from second place Miami Dade over the weekend to secure their first place slot in the Southern Conference. Palm Beach State defeated Dade on Friday in a rain soaked game 5-1 and came back Saturday on the road to win 3-2 in the first game of a twin bill before dropping the second contest 16-4. Any combination of Palm Beach wins or Dade losses equaling 1 will ensure the "Boys of Summer" their first conference crown since 1984. The Panthers are currently ranked #10 in the country and #2 in the State. Their overall record is 31-12 and 15-5 in the Southern Conference.

The men's baseball team stamped their ticket early to the State Baseball "elite 8" as they defeated Indian River 7-0 on Wednesday evening in Lake Worth. Behind the strong pitching of Eddie Cody the Panthers batted around in the first inning as they plated 4 runs to take all suspense out of the game early. With the win, the "Boys of Summer" are guaranteed a first or second place finish in the conference. Currently, the Panthers are 29-11 overall, 13-4 in the Southern Conference which is good for first place and ranked #10 in the country.

The Men's baseball team left little to suspense in their conference game against conference foe Broward Wednesday 3/31, as they plated 6 runs in the first inning and rode the arm of Eddie Cody to an 8 inning victory 12-2. The 2nd ranked team in the State of Florida ran theire overall record to 26-9 and Southern Conference record to 10-2. The Panthers are currently in first place with half of the Southern Conference season completed.

The Panthers continued to play well as they took 3 of 4 games for the week of 3/22-3/27. On Wednesday 3/24 the "Boys of Summer" dug themselves a hole they couldn't climb out of losing to Indian River on the road 8-7 after being down 8-1. In the game Palm Beach missed some opportunities to score as they left the bases loaded in both the first and second innings with 1 out and failed to score.
The Panthers rebounded over the weekend (3/26 and 3/27) as they swept a three game set with Brevard by the scores of 7-4, 11-5 and 8-1. With the wins the #22 ranked team in the country improved their overall record to 25-9. The #2 state rated Panthers are also 9-2 in the Southern Conference which is good for a 2 game lead over Miami Dade for first place.

In a make up conference game re-scheduled from March 17, the Panthers won their 17th game in the last 18 tries as they defeated Indian River this afternoon 13-3 in 7 innings. Down 3-1, Palm Beach State scored 5 runs in the third and 4 more in the 4th highlighted by Austin Knights 3 run blast to pull away for the win.

After getting off to a slow start (5-7) the Palm Beach State "Boys of Summer" have caught fire winning their last 14 in a row and climbing to the #3 spot in the state poll and #22 in the NJCAA Division I rankings. In that streak the Panthers defeated conference rivals Broward and Miami Dade twice to start their 24 game conference schedule at 3-0.
Ben Carhart has led the offensive attack with a .474 batting average and 9 home runs. Following Carhart is freshman second baseman Bryan Adametz hitting .435 with 3 home runs and freshman designated hitter Justin Frias also hitting .435. Last year's National Defensive Player of the Year Peter Mooney continues to excel as he is hitting .374.
Manny Rodriguez leads the team in pitching with a 3-0 record while Eric Rice is 3-1. These two are bolstered by a pitching core of Kyle Wolfe, Eddie Cody, Jessy Russianoff, Ken Sharpe and Josh Weinberg. In relief Dak Rissman has pitched extremely well.

Freshman Kenny Sharpe collected his first college win as the Panthers came back to defeat South Florida 11-5 in 10 innings on the road Wednesday evening. Losing 5-4 in the ninth Panther Dante Rosenberg tied the game with a solo homer. After Sharpe came in and closed the door on South Florida in the 9th, Ben Carhart hit a grand slam in the top half of the 10th to put the game away. It was Carhart's second homer of the night. The win moves the Panthers over the .500 mark with an 8-7 record with 4 games coming up in the next 4 days.

The Palm Beach State "Boys of Summer" had a successful week ( 2-10-2-14) as they won 3 of 4 games defeating Broward 2-1 on Wednesday Feb 10, and then defeating Hillsborough 2 of 3 over the weekend losing Sat. 11-2 before responding with a 4-2 win in the nightcap of the twin bill. On Sunday, the Panthers won an exciting 8-7 thriller as Alex Bello's two out RBI single in the 9th inning was the "walk off" run. Bello also connected for a two run blast earlier in the game.

The Palm Beach State men's baseball team have had trouble getting their bats going early in the season complicated by some defensive lapses as they have started off 2-4 in their first 6 games. The past week of action, the Panther's were defeated by Miami Dade 6-3 on Wednesday Feb 3 at home. Over the weekend PBSC split with Hillsborough winning 16-7 on Saturday before losing a tough 2-1 game on Sunday. On Saturday's breakout with the bats the Panthers were led by Evan Stermer, Jeramy Matos and Brian Adametz with home runs and Peter Mooney and Austin Knight had multiple hits during the 16-7 win.
