- Application Fee
Submit a completed Palm Beach State College Nursing Program application to the Palm Beach State Limited Access Program Office on the Lake Worth campus along with the required nonrefundable Application Fee.
- Transcripts
Official high school transcript or General Education Diploma (GED) transcripts from all colleges attended.
- Complete the pre-requistes:
- Chemistry
completion of one semester of college chemistry (CHM1020 or equivalent) within the last 10 years.
- Anatomy and Physiology
College level anatomy and physiology with lecture and lab (BSC 2085, BSC 2085L or equivalent lecture and lab) within the last 10 years * If a student has successfully completed A&P 2 with a Lab earning a grade of C or higher within the last 10 years of the application deadline, the 10 year requirement for A&P I will be waived.
- Developmental Psychology
Completion of college level Human Growth and Development course DEP2004.
- All courses must be completed with a grade of "C" or higher.
- HESI Pre-Admission Exam
For registration information for the HESI Admission Assessment (A2), clck on the following link: http://www.palmbeachstate.edu/hesi.xml . Test must be taken and scores on file by application date. Registration for the Fall Admission deadline is June 1st and Spring is November 1st. *Please arrive early! on the day of the test. Make sure to bring your REGISTRATION FORM that you print off of the HESI web site when you register. STUDENTS WHO DO NOT BRING THEIR REGISTRATION FORM WILL NOT BE ADMITTED TO THE TEST. The registration form must be printed from the HESI site. A valid photo ID is also required.
- Math Proficiency
Score 80 % or higher on NURSE PROCALC. Details are available in the Nursing Office (AH110) and at the Palm Beach State Testing Center. They are also provided during Information Sessions.
- Placement Test Scores
Scores must meet minimum requirements for entrance into college level English and math courses or required remediation must be completed successfully before the application deadline.
- Transition Applicant Only (LPNs & Paramedics)
NUR 2000L - Introduction to Professional Nursing is offered as a distance learning course online.
