Mentoring Program:
Each student is assigned a faculty mentor upon admission to the Nursing  Program. Every effort is made to encourage a one-on-one relationship between the student and faculty mentor that will last throughout their course work at Palm Beach State and beyond.

Student Counseling Support:
Academic Advising and Counseling services are available to assist any Student in the development of coping skills related to academic, personal and professional problems. The Nursing Program participates in the Early Alert system to aid in identifying student problems enabling prompt referrals to Student Counseling and Advising in an effort to ensure student success. Students may request information and assistance from Faculty, if needed.

Student Learning Groups:
Every Nursing Student has access to Student Learning Groups which are offered in all 4 semesters of the program. This program has been developed to assist the Nursing Student in the mastery of study skills and test-taking abilities related to course objectives/content. Learning groups focus on developing resources related to specific nursing course content, for life long learning.

Nursing Skills Labs:
In Lake Worth AH102 houses a state of the art Nursing Skills Lab that is staffed by both full-time and adjunct faculty and is available 6 days a week during Fall and Spring semesters for student practice of essential skill performance. Summer hours may vary but are posted online at and on campus at the entrance to the Nursing Skills Lab.

In Belle Glade, CRB218 houses a state of the art Nursing Skills Lab that is staffed by both full-time and adjunct faculty. Open hours are posted on the Skills Lab bulletin board in CRB218 with sign-up appointment schedules.

Distance Learning Course(s):
Transition Applicants (LPNs and Paramedics) are required to take NUR 2000L - Introduction to Professional Nursing and NUR 1141 Introduction to Pharmacotherapeutics (or its equivalent). These courses are currently offered as distance learning courses. Please read the Distance Learning Welcome Pages for each course and complete the Self-tests to see if this type of learning is for you.
