AS Degree Transfer Possibilities

The Associate in Science degree can offer transfer opportunities beyond the two-year AS degree if a transfer agreement is in place.

The Office of K-20 Ariculation, the Division of Strategic Initiatives and the Florida DOE have developed a group of Career Ladder articulation agreements under the provisions of Rule 6A-10.024. These agreements are for completed Associate in Science degrees with designated university baccalaureate degree programs.

The following additional institutions have current AS transfer agreements with Palm Beach State College.

TRANSFER AGREEMENTS WITH FLORIDA PUBLIC INSTITUTIONS

Florida Atlantic University-BECE Advising Sheet
This agreement establishes an articulation mechanism for graduates of the A.S Degree in Early Childhood Education at Palm Beach State College to transfer into and complete the Bachelor in Early Care and Education degree in Florida Atlantic University’s College of Education.

Florida Atlantic University-BSW Advising Sheet
The intention of this agreement is to establish an articulation mechanism for graduates of the A.S Degree in Human Services at Palm Beach State College to transfer into and complete the Bachelor of Social Work in Florida Atlantic University’s College of Architecture, Urban & Public Affairs.

Florida State Fire College: Transfer agreement between FSFC and Palm Beach State Fire Science AS degree (2007)


TRANSFER AGREEMENTS WITH PRIVATE INSTITUTIONS

Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities-Nursing
Community/State college students with an AS in nursing and who are a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) can transfer with junior standing. All credit awarded by a community/state college will transfer to the participating member of the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities. (60 credit minimum) The association schools are Creighton University (Omaha, NE), Regis University (Denver, CO), Wheeling Jesuit University (Wheeling, WV), and Spring Hill College (Mobile, AL).

Embry-Riddle University-Professional Pilot
This Articulation Agreement between Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University - Worldwide and Palm Beach State College is a cooperative agreement that facilitates the transfer of students from Palm Beach State's Professional Pilot Technology AS to Embry-Riddle's BS in Professional Aeronautics, Technical Management or Aviation Maintenance Management.

Kaplan University-General
Kaplan University and Palm Beach State College will facilitate the transfer of associate-degree graduates to baccalaureate completion programs at KU. This advanced start baccalaureate program (also known as a “2+2 option”) is designed to maximize a students’ transfer credit award.

Lynn University-Early Childhood Education
Lynn University and Palm Beach State College will facilitate transfer between the AS in Early Childhood Education with a Preschool Education emphasis and the LU BS in Elementary Education Grades K-6 Plus Pre-K/Primary (Age 3- Grade 3). Students who graduate with a 2.55 or better GPA and have complete the Florida Teacher Certification Exam (FTCE)-General Knowledge tests will be accepted.

It is still recommended that you speak to a Palm Beach State College advisor to select the courses that will build your qualifications to transfer to the institution of your choice.
