PANTHERS PLACE SEVEN ON ALL SOUTHERN CONFERENCE TEAM (4/23/2011)
Palm Beach State had good representation on the all conference team as voted on by the coaches. The Panthers placed 2 players on the first team (Bryan Adametz, outfield and Nick Zaharion, infield) and 5 players on the second (Alex Blodgett, pitcher; Luke Guarnaccia, catcher; Dan Glevenyak and Sal Giardina, infield and Enrique Perez, outfield). Palm Beach finished their season at 26-20 and were 12-12 in the Southern Conference.
PALM BEACH STATE BASEBALL COACH, ALEX MORALES MOVES ON (11/23/2010)
Palm Beach State's Baseball Coach, Alex Morales has resigned and accepted a chief scouting position with the Washington Nationals.
Morales took over the Palm Beach State Baseball program in 2005 and immediately made a positive impact. He not only brought the program State recognition but also the Panthers gathered National recognition during his 5 year stint. Coach Morales's overall record was 175-87 (.668) which included 85-38 (.691) in the Southern Conference of the FCCAA.
Morales's 2007 team finished 42-12 and for a period of time was ranked #1 in the nation among Division I JUCO programs. His 2009 and 2010 teams finished 3rd in the FCCAA state tournament. In addition, Morales's 2010 team won the Southern Conference and was ranked #9 in the country. Coach Morales was also named the Southern Conference Coach of the Year in 2010. Morales tutored 4 NJCAA All Americans, 3 National Defensive Players of the Year and 1 National Offensive Player of the year.
Coach Morales's last official day at Palm Beach State will be Dec 31, 2010. He will be succeeded this coming season by his 5 year assistant, Kyle Forbes formally the head coach at Palm Beach Atlantic.

CARHART AND MOONEY COLLECT NATIONAL HARDWARE
Ben Carhart continues to add to his post season honors as he recently was awarded the NJCAA/Rawlings 2010 Big Stick Award for his offensive prowress. The Southern Conference, FCCAA/CAA Player of the Year and First Team NJCAA All American was 1 of 10 players honored by Rawlings across the nation for such an award. Carhart hit .480 with 11 home runs, 72 runs batted in and 82 hits as the Panthers went 38-15 and a #9 national ranking.
In the case of Peter Mooney, it was back to back Defensive Player of the Year at the shortstop position. Mooney was honored with the same NJCAA/Easton award last season which is referred to as the Gold Glove. Mooney committed only 8 errors this season at the shortstop position. Peter also had a fine offensive year as he hit .356 with 10 doubles, 3 home runs, 28 RBI's, and 53 runs. His fielding percentage was an outstanding .955.
CARHART NAMED FIRST TEAM NJCAA ALL AMERICAN
Ben Carhart the FCCAA/CAA Baseball Player of the year in Florida continues to pile up the awards as he was named first team NJCAA All American at the infield position. Carhart had a career year for the Panthers as he hit an astounding .480 with 11 home runs, 72 runs batted in and 82 hits during the regular season. The Panthers third baseman helped the team win their first outright Southern Conference Championship since 1984! The Panthers ended the regular season ranked # 9 in the country and #2 in the State of Florida and finished their remarkable year with a 3rd place finish in the State Tournament and a final record of 38-15!
MORALES AND CARHART GRAB TOP HONORS IN SOUTHERN CONFERENCE!
Alex Morales and Ben Carhart have been tabbed as the Coach of the Year and Player of the Year respectively in the Southern Conference. Coach Morales wins his first Conference Coach of the Year Award in his 5 year stint with the Panthers as he led them to their first conference title outright since 1984 with a 35-13 regular season record including 18-6 in the conference. Morales has taken the Panthers to their third State tournament "elite eight" which begins Thursday May 6 with a 10am game @ Joker Marchant Stadium in Lakeland Florida. The Panthers finished third last season.
Carhart had an overpowering year as he hit .480 (over .500 in conference play), with team high's of 11 home runs, 72 runs batted in and 82 hits.
BOYS OF SUMMER

The Palm Beach "Boys of Summer" were treated to Major League Hall of Famer Ralph Kiner as he spoke to them before practice on Wednesday February 24, 2010. Kiner has been a radio broadcaster for the New York Mets since 1962. He is one of only 3 players to be inducted into the "Hall" having 10 years of experience or less at the major league level. His first 9 years in the league Kiner hit more home runs than any major league player until his record was recently broken by St Louis Cardinal Albert Pujols. Kiner led the majors in home runs for 6 straight seasons.
