Attendance Statement and Reporting Requirements

In order to comply with Federal law* and various agencies, (i.e., Title IV (Federal Financial Aid), Veterans Affairs, SEVIS, INS) instructors/faculty will be required to confirm attendance to Palm Beach State financial aid representatives, the College Registrar and/or the State Auditor General's office. Failure to provide such information will cause an undue financial detriment to the student or to the College.

In order to report non-attendance in a timely fashion, the following procedures must be followed:

Online: Student never logged in.

Student stops attending before the withdrawal date for the class as noted on the class roster.

As the faculty member defines nonattendance and the subsequent grade as stated in the syllabus.

Student stops attending from the second week up to the withdrawal period (65% of class meeting days).

Depending on the faculty attendance and grading policies as stated on the syllabus. The last date of attendance is the last date of student activity in the class (attending class, taking a test, handing in an assignment, etc).

As the faculty member defines nonattendance and the subsequent grade as stated in their syllabus.

Student stops attending after the withdrawal period has expired.
