AHO0481 - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Provider

Course Description:
Via didactic and experiential teaching methods, students learn to recognize and provide emergency care for respiratory failure, shock and cardiopulmonary arrest. Students rotate through BLS, advanced airway, vascular access, fluid therapy, medication and rhythm disturbance and management stations. Prerequisites: Students must be proficient in performing child and infant BLS skills using current AHA guidelines, reading and interpreting ECG rhythm strips and knowing basic resuscitation pharmacology. Participants must complete and pass the Precourse Self-Assessment with a score of 70% or higher.
