Course Description:
Students at this level should possess the content knowledge contained in ASL 1. Instruction and student response is recommended to be in ASL only. The course will cover Deaf history, educational philosophies, current methods of educating Deaf children, and adaptive equipments. This course will expand on fingerspelling, numbers, and vocabulary. Additionally, the course will cover regional variations, classifier handshapes and referents, verbs and adjective usage in ASL. It is recommended that students interpret and present basic ASL literature stories as required. Students will participate in a Deaf Club event as a requirement of this course.
