HPO0054 - American Sign Language 3

Course Description:
Students at this level should possess the content knowledge contained in ASL 1 and 2. Instructor and student responses at this level are required to be in ASL only, with no vocalization by either the instructor or the student. The course will cover rules of social interaction such as role shifting, Deaf history, fingerspelling and numbering systems at the intermediate level, money systems, time sequence, color modifiers, English translation of dialogues and storytelling as well as an expanded vocabulary. The course will also cover the professions/fields of Deafness, including Deaf education interpreters, community interpreters, audiologists, doctors and ministers.
