Assistant Dean of Student Services

Mrs. Jernae Thomas serves as the Assistant Dean of Student Services for both the Belle Glade and Loxahatchee Groves Campuses.

Jernae Thomas began her journey at Palm Beach State College in February 2011, and in the decade since, she has held such diverse positions as Office Assistant, Development Advisor, Financial Aid Advisor, Financial Aid Manager, and the Interim Assistant Dean of Student Services Belle Glade and Loxahatchee Groves campuses.

She started in her new role as Assistant Dean on April 18th.

Jernae holds a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management from Palm Beach Atlantic University and Master of Arts in Human Resource Management from Webster University. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership.

Jernae has a long history of supporting the College’s many initiatives. Her leadership has resulted in improved interdepartmental communication through the development and provision of cross-training across multiple departments. Jernae is passionate about working with students to help them achieve academic ​and personal success, and she is proud to serve the College and advocate for all students in her new role. She looks forward to collaborating with her colleagues College-wide to ensure students have access to the resources they need to succeed throughout their academic career at PBSC and beyond.

Outside of work, Jernae enjoys quality time with her family, watching HGTV, hunting, and shopping for shoes.
