Hello! My name is Dr.DeHoff. I will be teaching PSY2012 General Psychology during the fall term. If you are thinking about this class and want to know more about my background, this page is for you.
Before teaching, I worked for 15 years in corporate, conducting market/consumer research while achieving two advanced degrees, which have specializations in organizational psychology. I have worked with many great companies within in the industries within health, higher education, retailing, security, service, technology, and training/education. Throughout my career, I have executed both qualitative and quantitative studies, and presented research to all levels of the organization, including the Board of Directors.
I have my BS in Behavioral Science, my MS in Industrial & Organizational Psychology, and my PhD in International Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. My dissertation work focused on the psychological process of sensemaking during civil conflict. It was titled, Sensemaking of Civil Unrest by Expatriates in Istanbul, Turkey from May 31, 2013 to July 18, 2013, and it can be found here at http://gradworks.umi.com/36/89/3689710.html.
My main areas of expertise are cultures, employee health, international psychology, I/O psychology, migration, organizations, research, sensemaking, social psychology, and strategy. I have experiences with these topics within the context of China, Greece, Peru, Turkey, and the US.
