Career & Technical Educator (CTE)

Certification Courses

Palm Beach State College has courses for Career and Technical Education (CTE) teachers to satisfy School District of Palm Beach County CTE district certification course requirements. Below is a list of courses along with the CTE course requirement to obtain a Professional District CTE Certificate.

Enrollment Process for CTE

Step 1:
Complete and submit a Palm Beach State College application.

On the Enrollment Intention section of the application, choose the following option: I intend to complete a short-term certificate program to enhance my opportunities for employment. This option is for students who wish to take credit courses under an Advanced Technical Certificate (ATC).

On the Program of Study Selection section of the application, choose (AC) Career and Technical Education.

If you have a current college application which does not reflect the Career and Technical Education - ATC as your primary program objective, you must submit a program objective change form before proceeding. Your program objective should be submitted as Program Objective Code: (4393) Career and Technical Education ATC. Use the form below to change your program objective code (if applicable). Step 2:
Submit official high school transcript plus all higher education transcripts to Palm Beach State College Registrar's Office. Official transcripts must be sent by each institution in sealed envelopes or sent electronically by the institution. The Registration Office allows one semester enrollment without official transcripts; however, will not allow any subsequent enrollments.


Step 3:
Submit a copy of your Official District Statement of Status of Eligibility, Career and Technical Education Certificate OR a copy of your Official District Temporary Certificate, Career and Technical Education to the Institute of Teacher Education, Professional Development via email to: cabreran@palmbeachstate.edu or by fax to (561)868-3538. You may also submit your documentation in person to Nancy Cabrera-Chambers at the Palm Beach State College, Lake Worth campus, Continuing Education (CE) Building.


Step 4:
Once you have submitted a valid Official District Statement of Status of Eligibility, Career and Technical Education Certificate OR a copy of your Official District Temporary Certificate, Career and Technical Education you will be admitted to the program by the program director and will be able to self-enroll in courses. A program admission confirmation will be sent to your Palm Beach State College email address detailing program requirements for completion as well as other important program details.
