The Criminal Justice Institute at Palm Beach State College is a Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission certified Type "A" Training Center offering a full range of professional training opportunities in the Criminal Justice field. There are a limited number of seats available. Prerequisites are:
- You have taken and passed the BAT for the discipline you are seeking.
- Take the Integrity Inventory Test (I2).
- You must have taken and passed the PAT at this Institute. (Law Enforcement only)
- You must have been given a personal history questionnaire from the Selection Center Specialist.
Auxiliary Law Enforcement Officer
Basic Law Enforcement Auxiliary Academy prepares students as entry level Auxiliary officers in the State of Florida. This program is sometimes referred to as Reserve Law Enforcement Officers.
Law Enforcement Officer Program - Limited Access Program
The Law Enforcement Basic Recruit Training prepares students as entry level law enforcement officers in the State of Florida. Practical skills and simulated activities compliment the classroom instruction. Upon successful completion, students are eligible to take the Florida Department of Law Enforcement State Certification Examination. This minimum standards class is regulated by Florida statutes and is a highly structured and disciplined program with special rules, policies and procedures.
Corrections Officer Program - Limited Access Program
The Corrections Basic Recruit Training prepares students as entry level corrections officers in the State of Florida. Practical skills and simulated activities compliment the classroom instruction. Upon successful completion, students are eligible to take the Florida Department of Law Enforcement State Certification Examination. 911 Public Safety Telecommunicator Program
There are over 6,000 Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) in the United States of America. This course will teach the skills and knowledge to be able to work in any of those PSAPs, and the skills are easily-transferable to other employers.
Crime Scene Technology
An Associate's degree or College Credit Certificate in Crime Scene Technology will prepare the student to operate behind the yellow crime scene tape. Crime Scene Technologists locate, collect, and identify physical evidence used to solve crimes.
Criminal Justice Technology
An Associate's degree in Criminal Justice Technology (Law Enforcement or Non-sworn) will prepare the student for a career in the Criminal Justice system.

Using Financial Aid?
If you are planning to use Financial Aid for the LE Academy, you should have your official high school and college transcripts on file with the College Admissions Office. You should request them in advance to allow registrar's office processing time, that can be up to 12 weeks. For more information contact the Financial Aid office at 561-868-3330.
