sheryl gieseSheryl (Shayna) Platt, Program Director:  has been a Massage Therapist since 1985, licensed in the state of Florida since 1994, a massage therapy educator since 1997 and created the Massage Therapy Program at Palm Beach State College in the year 2000. Kimberly AdamsonKimberly Adamson, Administrative Assistant II: is the first friendly smile to greet you as you enter our reception area.  She holds an A.S. degree in Health, Kinesiology & Personal Training and is a graduate of our own Massage Therapy program. mindy yaleMindy Yale, FT Instructor has been teaching anatomy, eastern modalities and allied natural therapies since 1995 and has been a licensed Massage therapist since 1992. Her dedication to providing practical understanding and support to the professional development of her students is paramount. TimiphotoTimi Storms, FT Instructor has been in private practice as a Licensed Massage Therapist since 2002 and holds a B.S. in Business Administration. She has studied various integrative therapies including Reiki, Lymphatic Drainage, CranioSacral, Reflexology, Stone and Aroma Therapy and is a Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner. Timi has utilized her skills to enhance patient/client care in her private practice, chiropractic, luxury spa and hospice settings. Timi continues supplemental and formal studies to promote and expand her knowledge in the field of health.  She will walk you through your hands on training one stroke at a time while learning to protect your body mechanics and increase your patient/client care skills. email: stormst@palmbeachstate.edu

 

jillhaganJill Hagan, Adjunct Instructor, has been a Licensed Massage Therapist since 2005. Trained in West Palm Beach, Florida, she has a teaching background for many years in the education field, and has lived across the U.S. and in Costa Rica.  Jill teaches the first course of the Massage Therapy program, Health Care Concepts, introducing the health care profession to the new students.   She enjoys sharing her enthusiasm about massage therapy as an occupation within the health care industry.   You may also find her teaching the introduction to the Polo Lei style of Lomi-Lomi to licensed massage therapists for continuing education credits. haganj@palmbeachstate.edu

 

margi foleyMargi Foley, Adjunct Instructor is also a Palm Beach State Massage Therapy Program graduate, a Massage Therapist for 9 years and a Florida Licensed Massage Therapist since 2005. As a Massage Lab & Clinic instructor, Margi's soft loving personality educates students step by step developing their hands on clinic skills. email: foleym@palmbeachstate.edu 

 

Simon Briscoe was introduced to massage therapy in 1997. He became completely absorbed in finding out how best to release muscles that had become dysfunctional and decided to study clinical and orthopedic massage therapy. Simon believes that when you choose the right direction, the right people come into your life to study with.  He found that by combining many different techniques from different disciplines in a comprehensive protocol, the causes of people’s pain and discomfort could be reduced or eliminated. As an adjunct instructor, Simon feels privileged to introduce this same work to students in the Massage Therapy program at Palm Beach State College. briscoes@palmbeachstate.edu

 

RachelPHOTORachel Speranza, Adjunct Instructor spreads the true message of aromatherapy in the hopes to integrate the powerful experience that the combination of essential oils and massage can yield. She has been licensed since 2003, and specializes in Aromatherapy, Native American Stone Massage, intuitive healing and bodywork, and Reflexology. Rachel is a Certified Pediatric Massage Therapist, and Certified Rainbow Kids Yoga Teacher and hopes to offer children a union of nurturing touch w/ that of a yoga practice that focuses on fun, co- creation, and togetherness.   Also, she inspires future Massage Therapists to stretch their imagination and take massage therapy out of the treatment room, and into volunteer fieldwork like "Pampering with Purpose", Emergency Response Massage Therapists, international medical missions, and nurturing touch global outreach for children.    Her volunteer endeavors have taken her to the Mississippi Gulf Coast after Hurricane Katrina, and Tibet to aid a doctor's group working w/ Kasin-Beck syndrome.  email: speranzr@palmbeachstate.edu

 

 

Lisa's pixLisa Sterman, Adjunct Instructor is the newest instructor to our team.  Lisa comes to us with a long history as an educator in a variety of subjects. Anatomy and Physiology, Pathology, Professional Development, Hydrotherapy, Trigger Point Therapy, Structural Integration, Swedish Massage, Reflexology, Sports Massage, Myokinetics, Functional Assessment, Hydrostone, Kinesiology, (Advanced Master Program), Trager, Advanced Neuromuscular, Resistive Release, Myofascial Release, Active Isolated Stretching as well as general education.  Students love Lisa's teaching style and her fun way of making information easy to understand.  email: stermanl@palmbeachstate.edu

 

BodhiPHOTOBodhi Da Silva, Adjunct Instructor offers a unique massage experience as he shares with us his specialty of Thai Massage. Bodhi started his teaching career with PBSC in the year 2000; the first year the Massage Therapy Program began. Bodhi is additionally part of the Hippocrates Health Institute family where he shares his healing touch with people who face life threatening health challenges. Bodhi spreads his knowledge and love throughout the world offering Thai Certification courses.   Bodhi's approach is truthful, direct, and genuine. He supports you in properly utilizing authentic Thai technique while encouraging you to be true to who you are.
