to schedules, assignments, PowerPoints, and more! Never again hear, "I couldn't do
the assignment because I lost the instructions." Ready to get started? Here is a video
tutorial to show you how to set up your faculty home page. If you'd prefer one-on-one assistance, please contact Lisa MacMullen to schedule an appointment or stop by the Lake Worth PTLC.
Professional development opportunities
Professional Development for faculty is offered through the Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence (CTLE). Please contact CTLE staff with any questions.
Professional Development for staff is offered through Human Resources' Learning and Professional Development department. You may view and enroll for staff training opportunities on the Professional Development System. To present a training event for staff, please contact Debra-Anne Singleton.
Creating and Editing Your Syllabus
The college uses Simple Syllabus to enable faculty to personalize and publish their syllabi.
Faculty create their syllabi online using our syllabus creator tool, Simple Syllabus. You enter your content, then the tool creates and posts your syllabus on your faculty webpage.
A number of resources are available to show you how to use Simple Syllabus.
In addition to the online Simple Syllabus Tutorials, training in creating or editing your syllabus is available from:
- Instructional Design Technology on Lake Worth, Palm Beach Gardens, and Boca Raton campuses
- If the IDT staff is unavailable, the eLearning staff on that campus can also assist you
- eLearning's Sade Hall on Loxahatchee and Belle Glade campuses
- PTLC Specialist Lisa MacMullen in the Lake Worth PTLC
- many department chairs are available to walk their faculty through the process of creating or editing their syllabi
What grading software is available?
Please use Grade Center, the online gradebook available through BlackBoard, which your students can also access online.
To use Grade Center, ask your area's administrative assistant to add a "GB" special designator to your class(es) in PantherNet. Then log into Blackboard at www.palmbeachstate.edu/eLearning with the same userid and password you use for College email; your course(s) will await you there.
