About NextGen Summer Bridge Program

The NextGen Summer Bridge program is an accelerated completion initiative that provides effective academic, financial, and personal support for a diverse student population who identify as first-generation in college.

The program provides comprehensive and innovative services to enhance the students’ experience at PBSC and is designed to significantly increase access and opportunity and accelerate graduation. An average of 90-95% of students who have participated in similar TRiO, Student Support Services, and Summer Bridge Programs across the nation have remained in good academic standing each year.

Beyond the summer, students are invited to apply for TRiO Student Support Services (SSS) or the NextGen Scholars Program. These accelerated programs provide a streamlined, predictable schedule for students to obtain their associate degree in two (2) years or less. In addition to academic support, students receive a plethora of services including individualized academic advising, counseling, coaching, financial aid assistance, social and cultural enrichment programs, on-campus employment opportunities, and workshops that broaden career perspectives, improve academic skills, promote self-confidence, and address various other factors college students face.
