Fireground Rescue and Survival

This is a hands-on course involving a variety of rescue and survival techniques and procedures. The program emphasizes the tools and techniques associated with RIT operations and firefighter self-rescue from life-threatening situations encountered during firefighting operations inside structures.

Flashover Awareness

This is a controlled live fire training class that allows the student to see fire progress from the incipient stage through and including flashover. The student participates with the hands-on control and extinguishment of the fire.

Incident Safety Officer

This course examines the safety officer's role at emergency response situations. A specific focus on operations within an incident command system as a safety officer is a main theme.

Live Fire Training Instructor

This course is designed to prepare the student to function as the Instructor-In-Charge or Safety Officer during live fire training exercises. Students will learn to operate safely and effectively in accordance with applicable laws and standards. The curriculum covers NFPA 1403 in detail, NFPA 1402, and parts of NFPA 1500. There is extensive use of case studies and practical exercises to reinforce the lessons learned.

Live Fire Training Instructor Refresher

This eight hour class is designed to meet the recertification needs of any State of Florida certified Live Fire Instructor 1 or 2. The course includes an update of the changes to NFPA 1403 found in the 2007 edition, a review of State laws pertaining to live fire exercises, a review and discussion of trainee and instructor fatalities in the live fire environment.

Emergency Vehicle Operators Course

This course certifies Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT's) and Paramedics to the standards that meet the State of Florida Department of Health, Bureau of Emergency Medical Services statutory requirements as outlined in F.S. 401.281(e). Prerequisite: Valid State of Florida Drivers License.

Strategy and Tactics Refresher

This 16 hour course provides a review of key Strategy and Tactics concepts for the professional firefighter. The review will be accomplished using a combination of lectures of Incident Scene Management along with eight scenarios per day that participants will complete as members of teams. The scenarios are designed to simulate actual situations that may be encountered on the job.

Firefighter Skills Refresher

This twenty four hour course is designed to provide the required skills refresher training that the currently Florida certified firefighter needs to prepare them to take the recertification practical test.
