TeamWork Education Foundation
If the adage teamwork makes the dream work is true, the TeamWork Education Foundation is doing exactly that for students at Palm Beach State College.
The TeamWork Scholarship is serving Palm Beach State’s Career Pathways for those students enrolled at the Palm Beach Gardens campus. Designed to help students identify viable career paths along their educational journey, the TeamWork initiative allows students to attain their degrees sooner than later with lower educational costs, providing the local workforce with well-prepared professionals.
The TeamWork Education Foundation Board has made an initial commitment of $200,000 to Florida’s first public college, serving students seeking AS degrees in health sciences and STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) studies.
Patti Lehrhoff, President of the TeamWork Education Foundation has been impressed with the College’s Foundation, programs, and leadership, making PBSC the exclusive post-secondary partner for TeamWork.
“We strive to be an educational vehicle for social change while elevating the workforce, and we’re proud to do so with the Foundation for Palm Beach State.”
Complementing the College’s mission to transform lives through education, Patti and the TeamWork Board are driven to serve ALICE (Asset Limited Income Constrained Employed) level households. The result of United Way research, ALICE refers to those who do not qualify for economic benefits and cannot afford basic necessities yet contribute to our workforce.
“TeamWork often invests in those who typically don’t have opportunities, and our greatest intent is employment and sustainability, outcomes we want for students, especially through our Palm Beach State partnership.”
For Mike, a biotechnology student, the TeamWork Scholarship has been life-changing. “I work full-time overnight security at a hospital, then go straight to class. The scholarship has eased a huge financial burden and allows me to finish my degree and pursue genetics research.”

Andria Cunningham, Vice President of Advancement and CEO of the Foundation for Palm
Beach State College, appreciates how the collaboration extends beyond traditional
financial aid. “We are grateful for TeamWork Education’s support of our students,
not only through scholarships but also through mentorships.”
Empowering students as agents of change for the community, TeamWork’s leadership and board want to educate people to Palm Beach State as a tremendous resource that fuels our workforce. In fact, if you live, work, or play in the community, you have likely crossed paths with a Palm Beach State graduate through an array of industries and businesses.
An African proverb tells us, If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together. For Patti Lehrhoff and her Board, their mission to go far and elevate our community is made stronger through a Palm Beach State partnership and the power of TeamWork.
