Information Security Office
The Information Security Office (ISO) works to keep the College’s systems, services and data safe from unauthorized access, misuse and loss. The ISO develops and maintains security programs that help protect student, employee and College information while supporting the College’s academic and business goals. By working with the College community, the ISO promotes safe and secure use of technology across campus.
Information Safety Starts With Us
Everyone at the College plays a role in protecting sensitive information. Staying alert, following security best practices and reporting suspicious activity helps keep our campus and data safe.
Report Suspicious Emails
With the ever-growing risks that are associated with Phishing emails, PBSC has instituted a quick and easy-to-use Phishing submission method for suspected Phishing attempts. You will now be able to simply click the “Report Phishing” icon in the Outlook Toolbar.
Pushing this button will forward a copy of the email to the Information Security Office for review and mitigation, if necessary. This will help the college to gain visibility into existing Phishing threats and enable us to respond accordingly.

Report a Security Incident
A security incident is any unexpected event — or series of events — that could put
College systems, operations or sensitive information at risk. If you suspect or discover
a security incident, please report it as soon as possible. Quick reporting helps the
College respond faster, reduce potential damage and lower recovery costs.
Examples include:
- Virus or malware outbreaks
- Firewall breaches
- Unauthorized changes to software, data or systems
- Lost or stolen equipment containing sensitive College data
- Exposure or breach of personal information
- Fill out a ticket with the Service Desk remembering to include as much detail as possible.
Panther Cyber Pledge
As a member of the Palm Beach State College family, I pledge to:
- Use a strong password and never share it with anyone.
- Think before I click, especially with links and attachments.
- Report suspected security issues immediately.
- Be vigilant with emails and always analyze them carefully for potential phishing attempts.
- Remember to think before I post on social media and will remember posted information cannot be deleted.
- Check privacy settings on social media and other apps I use.
- Help others to understand the importance of cybersecurity.
