Legal Notice of Board Meetings and Board/Community Forum
Pursuant to Palm Beach State College District Board of Trustees Policy 6Hx-18-1.02, the District Board of Trustees of Palm Beach State College will hold a Community Forum and its regular, monthly, Board Meeting on April 17, 2018. The Community Forum will be at 4:00 p.m. followed by the monthly, Board Meeting at 5:00 p.m. Both, the Forum and the Board Meeting, will be held in the auditorium of the Loxahatchee Groves Campus of Palm Beach State College, located at 15845 Southern Boulevard, Loxahatchee, Florida, 33470.
Both, the Forum and Board Meeting, are open to the public and are being held at the above-stated location. A copy of the agenda will be available prior to the meeting in the President’s Office, Room AD-210 on the Lake Worth Campus of Palm Beach State College, located at 4200 Congress Avenue, Lake Worth, FL 33461, as well as, on the College’s website at http://www.palmbeachstate.edu/boardoftrustees/meeting-info.aspx.
Additionally, notice is hereby given that in accordance with Section 286.011 (8) Fla. Stat., on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. or immediately following the conclusion of the April meeting of the District Board of Trustees for Palm Beach State College meeting, the Board of Trustees will hold an Attorney-Client Shade Meeting at the same location as the Board Meeting/Community Forum to discuss the following litigation:
Dwella Nelson and Robert Nelson vs. Academy of Dance, Music and Theatre, Inc. and Palm Beach State College, Case No.: 50-2016-CA-001650
The meeting will be attended by the District Board of Trustees for Palm Beach State College, General Counsel Kevin Fernander, VP of Administration and Business Services, and/or defense counsel Edward Prieto, coverage counsel Rick Mitchell and/or Joseph Fitos, and a designated court reporter.

Palm Beach State College District Board of Trustees welcomes public comments during its regular monthly meetings. Any person or group wishing to make public comments must complete a “Public Comment Card”. Procedures for making public comments are as follows:
- Complete comment card including your name, address, telephone number and agenda item number (if appropriate).
- Submit the completed card to the executive administrative assistant to the board (seated on the right side of the dais) following the Approval of the Board Agenda. Anyone wishing to speak must submit a completed card at this time. Comment cards will not be accepted at any other time of the meeting.
- When your name is called, approach the podium with the microphone, and state your name and address for the record.
- Comments are limited to three (3) minutes. This is the opportunity for persons wishing to make public comments regarding an agenda item to speak.
Any person(s) not adhering to the Board’s guidelines or who make comments which could be perceived as slanderous or disruptive may be barred from making future comments before the Board.
