The Federal Work-Study Program provides an opportunity for students who need financial assistance to earn a portion of their college expenses through on-campus part-time employment. To receive a work-study award a student must be eligible for financial aid. The program encourages community service work and work related to each student's course of study by enhancing skills already acquired and by providing the opportunity to learn new skills while employed on campus or in a community service role. The total work-study award depends on the availability of positions, the availability of funds and neccessary need.
The current Palm Beach State College wage is $8.25, but the amount may be higher depending on the type of work and the skills required.
To be considered for work-study, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and indicate on question No. 28 of the FAFSA your interest in part-time employment as part of your financial assistance.
After you receive an official Financial Aid Award letter reflecting a Federal Work-Study Award allocation, log in to the Career Center at http://www.palmbeachstate.edu/career/student-login/ to search for an available position and complete your application for employment.
