Selected Visiting Artist Fellowships

2026: Artist Diane Arrieta

Georgeta Fondos

Arrieta’s work investigates ecological systems, endangered species, and the cultural narratives embedded in material traditions, combining training in ceramic sculpture and wildlife health to unite scientific research with poetic visual language. Through immersive installations made from clay, fiber, industrial remnants, and found materials, she transforms environmental data into spaces of reflection and empathy. Influenced by place, memory, Lenape ancestry, and European agrarian traditions, her work explores land stewardship, resilience, and intergenerational labor through recurring forms of nests, shelters, and ritual structures. Her work has been exhibited at institutions including the Cornell Museum, NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton Museum of Art, and the Museum of Fine Arts Tallahassee, and she is the recipient of honors such as the South Florida Cultural Consortium Fellowship and the Helen M. Salzberg Visiting Artist Fellowship.
