Video Resources to Support Student Success

Employees have access to a growing library of video resources designed to help support student learning. These videos cover various topics, such as scheduling an appointment with the SLC and what to do if you receive alerts in Navigate to how the SLC supports Study Buddies.

College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) Certification

The Palm Beach State College SLC Labs are certified at Level I (Regular), Level II (Advanced), and Level III (Master) through the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA). Below are instructions on how to become CRLA certified.

Level I Training Requirements (10 hours)

In-Class Training Assignments (min of 6 hours)

  1. Sign-up for a workshop/class with your Learning Specialist
  2. Attend the workshop/class
  3. Complete a Reaction Paper

Level II Training Requirements (10 hours)

Must have completed Level I certification. No credit for repeats.

Level III Training Requirements (10 hours)

Must have completed Level I & Level II certification. No credit for repeats.

1. Four new topics must be covered.

2. Live training (minimum of 2 hours) 
Face-to-face or online discussions, tutor-trainer supervised, and interactive. Remaining training time can be acquired through videotapes/DVDs/websites, and conferences with supervisors.

3. Review of any topics covered in Levels I and II
