Dr. LaTanya L. McNeal is an educator with twenty-three years of experience in secondary
and post-secondary education. Dr. McNeal began her educational journey as a high school
biology, chemistry and physics teacher and served as an instructional science coach,
high school assistant principal of student services, vice principal of curriculum
and instruction and principal of an International Baccalaureate Magnet and AVID middle
school. She has worked as an educational consultant for the school district of Nashville,
TN, and prior to her matriculation into education, was a business operations sales
manager for AT&T and senior benefits manager for state account operations at Blue
Cross Blue Shield Association of Florida.
Dr. McNeal began her journey with PBSC in 2013 as the Belle Glade campus’ first Student Learning Center manager. In 2015, Dr. McNeal was promoted to Assistant Dean of Student Services, and on April 1, 2019, she started in her new role as Executive Dean for the Belle Glade campus. She has also served as an adjunct professor at Palm Beach State College and Jacksonville University.
Dr. McNeal obtained her bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences and master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of North Florida. In 2018, she obtained her doctoral degree in higher education and organizational leadership with a minor in human resource development from Nova Southeastern University. Currently, she is pursuing a Master of Science in Education Law from the Shepard Broad College of Law at Nova Southeastern University. Dr. McNeal is the Chair of the Glades area Advisory Board for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County, serves as an AdvanceED External Review school accreditation team member for the State of Florida, and is a member of the Lake Okeechobee Regional Economic Alliance (LORE), Glades Career Readiness Roundtable (GCRR), Glades Technical Advisory Committee, Lakeside Medical Center Advisory Board, Pahokee Housing Authority, the Dolly Hand Cultural Arts Center advisory board and the Pahokee Rotary as well as other various civic organizations locally and nationally. Dr. McNeal is an active member of her church and the proud parent of a current Palm Beach State College student and in her spare time, enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
