Student Resources

Palm Beach State is eager to make your education a reality, and we are here to help you alleviate your economic burden to guarantee your success in college. We have compiled a list of resources that our institution offers:

Textbook Price Match & Rentals:  Your campus bookstore price matches Booksmart, Barnes & Noble, and Amazon! You can also rent copies of most textbooks.


Laptop Loan
:
Semester-long laptop loans are available.  Complete the request to receive instructions for how to pick up a laptop.


PantherCard:
  
Your PantherCard is your key to accessing resources provided at the college. Many local merchants also provide discounts for students who show their ID. Students with excess financial aid can also use it  to purchase books and supplies at the start of each semester.


Student Learning Center
:  
The SLCs offers in person and online a variety of options to meet the academic support needs of students, including: tutoring, study areas, seminars/workshops, and more.


Library
:  
Access library resources in person and online. Check out materials from the circulating collection; borrow a textbook from the reserve collection, get research help; access online databases of articles, journals, and streaming media; or borrow a calculator, tablet, or laptop. Palm Beach State students also have access to FAU’s library.


Career Center
The Career Center assists current students and degree program graduates. Services include: career advising, job search assistance, career workshops and events, job fairs, on-campus recruiting, job and internship listings, a Career Mentor network, career assessment tools, and help with major selection.

Students are eligible for Office 365 Education, which includes Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Teams. 


Eduroam WiFi Network
:  Eduroam allows access a secure WiFi network connection. Use your Palm Beach State Wi-Fi authentication at any eduroam hotspot in the world.


PAW Wireless Network
:  
Use Palm Beach State’s wireless network PAW when on campus.

Clubs & Organizations
: Join a club or organization to get involved on the campus, build leadership skills, and make friends. 


Intramural Sports
:  Intramurals at Palm Beach State College are an excellent way to socialize, exercise and learn a new sport. Students participate in intramurals strictly for recreation. A student's ability is not as important as the emphasis on participation, having fun, and socializing.


Sports
:  Palm Beach State College participates in intercollegiate men's baseball, men and women’s basketball, and women's volleyball. Attend a game at no cost and show your Panther Pride!


Theatres:
Palm Beach State’s theatres host live shows, dance, music, art exhibits, and much more.  Student discounts or free tickets may be available for some events.


Art Galleries:
  The galleries at the Lake Worth and Palm Beach Gardens campuses showcase exhibits and events, which are free and open to the public.


Social Media
:  Join Palm Beach State’s online community to access up-to-date information and find out what’s happening at the college.

Panther's Closet:  A thrift shop where everything is only $1.  Panther’s Closet is open to all current students, faculty and staff. 


Counseling Center
: Our Counseling Center offers crisis intervention, brief therapy sessions, and community referrals. You can also access 24/7 counseling over the phone.


Cosmetology Program Services
: Our Cosmetology program offers hair, facial, and nail services at reasonable fees. 


Massage Program Services
: Our Massage Therapy program is open to the public and offers services at minimal fees. 


Dental Health Services
: Palm Beach State College's Dental Hygiene Care Center is a teaching facility in which students enrolled in the Dental Hygiene program provide preventive dental care to the community. 

Scholarships: Palm Beach State offers a wide range of scholarships for students. Merit based scholarships are usually awarded on the basis of scholastic ability, talent, area of study, or leadership potential. Others, known as need-based scholarships, are awarded on the basis of financial need. Students must apply for Financial Aid, be in a degree-seeking program and maintain at least a 2.0 GPA for most awards.  

Discount Palm Tran Passes:  Palm Tran student passes are available at all four campus bookstores and the Loxahatchee Groves Cashier’s Office. A valid PantherCard and current course schedule must be presented in order to purchase those passes that are discounted for students.


Discount Tri-Trail Passes:  Tri-rail offers discounted fare to currently enrolled students with proof of eligibility.  Click the link above for instructions on how to obtain a Discounted Fare Easy Card


South Florida Commuter Services:  Palm Beach State has partnered with South Florida Commuter Services to help students find alternatives to driving alone.
