Block Schedule Help
All classes MUST follow block schedule starting times as indicated in the Academic Affairs Policies & Procedures Manual - Section G. If your class has break time (such as an evening class), that time is added to the time that you calculate.
Formula for calculating a Block Schedule Time
1. Enter total contact hours for the course: _______
2. Take total hours times 50 for total minutes: _______
3. How many weeks is your course? ______
4. Divide TOTAL MINUTES from step 2 by WEEKS from step 3: _______
5. Convert minutes in Step 4 to Hours and Minutes: _________
EXAMPLE:
1. Enter total contact hours for the course: 48
2. Take total hours times 50 for total minutes: 2400
3. How many weeks is your course? 16
4. Divide TOTAL MINUTES from step 2 by WEEKS from step 3: 150
5. Convert minutes in Step 4 to Hours and Minutes: 2 hours 30 minutes
