Pursuant to Palm Beach State College District Board of Trustees Policy 6Hx-18-1.02, the District Board of Trustees of Palm Beach State College will hold its regular meeting.  The purpose of the regular meeting is for the District Board of Trustees, the legal governing body of Palm Beach State College, to conduct public business.

Pursuant to Palm Beach State College District Board of Trustees Policy 6Hx-18-1.02, the District Board of Trustees of Palm Beach State College will hold its regular, monthly, Board Meeting on November 12, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. The meeting is open to the public and will be held in Room 121 of the Countess De Hoernle Humanities & Technology Building at the Boca Raton Campus of Palm Beach State College, located at 801 Palm Beach State College, Boca Raton, Florida, 33431. The purpose of this meeting is for the District Board of Trustees, the legal governing body of the College, to conduct public business.

Public Notice of Proposed Course and User Fee Adjustment

The Palm Beach State College District Board of Trustees will be considering course and user fee adjustments at its next regularly scheduled meeting on November 12, 2019 at 4:00 PM.

This change affects the courses listed below:

  1. Concepts of Fundamentals of Practical Nursing 1 (PRN0098): New course in inventory, combining fees from Nurse Aid and Orderly Articulated (HCP0121C and PRN0061C). The $60 fee covers personal protective equipment, foundational skills equipment and cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification.
  2. Concepts of Fundamentals of Practical Nursing 2 (PRN0099): New course in inventory (fee formerly applied to Concepts of Fundamentals of Practical Nursing 2 (PRN0062C). The $35 fee covers personal protective equipment and specimen collection equipment.
  3. Concepts of Practical Nursing 1 (PRN0290): New course in inventory (fee formerly applied to Concepts of Practical Nursing 1 (PRN0063C). The $35 fee covers personal protective equipment and specialized equipment for advanced skills.
  4. Concepts of Practical Nursing 2 (PRN0291): New course in inventory (fee formerly applied to Concepts of Practical Nursing 2 (PRN0069C). The $35 fee covers personal protective equipment and specialized equipment for advanced skills.
  5. Transition to Practical Nursing (PRN0690): New course in inventory (fee formerly applied to Transition to Practical Nursing (PRN0064C). The $25 fee covers personal protective equipment and specialized equipment for advanced skills – maternal/child, pediatric.

Due to a revision of the Practical Nursing program, two courses (Concepts of Fundamentals of Nursing 1 (formerly PRN0061C) and Nurse Aide and Orderly- Articulated (formerly HCP0121C) were combined into one course, Concepts of Fundamentals of Nursing 1 (PRN0098). Public Notice of Proposed Course and User Fee Adjustment

The Palm Beach State College District Board of Trustees will be considering course and user fee adjustments at its next regularly scheduled meeting on September 10, 2019 at 4:00 PM.

This change affects the courses listed below:

  1. Capstone Experience: Entrepreneurship (ENT4900): Adding $40 per student to take the Peregrine examination which is used for external assessment of the BAS program which is a requirement to maintaining ACBSP accreditation.
  2. Capstone Experience-General Management (GEB4935): Adding $40 per student to take the Peregrine examination which is used for external assessment of the BAS program which is a requirement to maintaining ACBSP accreditation.
  3. Capstone Experience-Health Management (HSA4938): Adding $40 per student to take the Peregrine examination which is used for external assessment of the BAS program which is a requirement to maintaining ACBSP accreditation.

These additional testing fees included in the course fee assessment will be used directly to pay for and administer the capstone exams. The non-resident rate was $1,674 which will increase to $1,714 to include the test. The instate rate was $368.55 which will increase to $408.55 to include the test.

Notice of Public Meeting - Collective Bargaining Session

Notice is hereby given that a bargaining session between Palm Beach State College and the United Faculty of Palm Beach State College is scheduled from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Monday, August 19, 2019 at Palm Beach State College, Lake Worth Campus, Center for Bachelor’s Program, CBP 215, 4200 Congress Avenue, Lake Worth, Florida 33461.

The negotiation session relates to the terms of a Collective Bargaining Agreement.

In accordance with Section 286.011, Florida Statutes, this session is open to the public. A simulcast of the negotiation session will be available for public viewing at the following locations of Palm Beach State College:

Legal Notice - Attorney/Client Shade Meeting - Nov. 13, 2018

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in accordance with Section 286.011 (8) Fla. Stat., on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. the Board of Trustees of Palm Beach State College will hold an Attorney-Client Shade Meeting in Room HT-121 of its Boca Raton Campus, located at 801 Palm Beach State College, Boca Raton, FL 33431 to discuss the claim bill filed in the Florida Senate in connection with the following litigation:

Dwella Nelson and Robert Nelson vs. Academy of Dance, Music and Theatre, Inc. and Palm Beach State College, Case No.: 50-2016-CA-001650

The meeting will be attended by the District Board of Trustees of Palm Beach State College, President Ava L. Parker, General Counsel Kevin A. Fernander, Vice President of Administration and Business Services Richard A. Becker, defense counsels Edward Prieto and/or Mary Ann Stiles, coverage counsel Richard E.
