Complexions Contemporary Ballet

Friday & Saturday,
January 19 & 20, 2024 | 8 p.m.

Complexions was founded in 1994 by Master Choreographer Dwight Rhoden and the legendary Desmond Richardson with a singular approach to reinventing dance through a groundbreaking mix of methods, styles, and cultures. The company’s foremost innovation is that dance should be about removing boundaries, not reinforcing them.

Whether it be the limiting traditions of a single style, period, venue, or culture, Complexions transcends them all, creating an open, continually evolving form of dance that reflects the movement of our world—and all its constituent cultures—as an interrelated whole, having presented an entirely new and exciting vision of human movement on 5-continents, over 20-countries, to over 20-million TV viewers and to over 300,000 people in live shows. Complexions is poised to continue its mission to bring unity to the world one dance at a time.

Friday & Saturday,
February 2 & 3, 2024 | 8 p.m.

BODYTRAFFIC uses the creative spirit of its Los Angeles home to fulfill its mission of delivering performances that inspire audiences simply to love dance. Since its inception in 2007, the company has held its place at the forefront of the concert dance world with a compelling style that “suggests invention, attitude, and urban edge” (The Boston Globe).

Its smashing repertory includes the works of renowned contemporary choreographers like Kyle Abraham, Ohad Naharin, Hofesh Shechter, Victor Quijada, Arthur Pita, Fernando Magadan, and Micaela Taylor.

Grupo Corpo: Direct from Brazil

When you see GRUPO CORPO dancing, it's as if the questions of transit between nature and culture were being well answered. They are the different Brazils, the past, and the future, the erudite and the popular, the foreign heritage and the local color, the urban and the suburban, all at the same time being resolved as art. Brazilian art.

Art of the world. Today, having created more than 40 choreographies, the contemporary dance company from Minas Gerais performs in places as different as Iceland and South Korea, the United States and Lebanon, Italy, and Singapore, Holland and Israel, France and Japan, Canada, and Mexico.
