Testing Center

What should you know before arriving at the Testing Center?

NEW!  On August 9, the Modern States Education Alliance announced its official launch of tuition-free online CLEP® courses. The courses, taught by professors from leading institutions, have no prerequisites or restrictions for enrolling and cover all CLEP exam subjects. The courses are free to all users and also include free textbooks and course materials.


Acceptable Identification

  • Current U.S. Driver's License with photo.
  • Current Federal, State, County, or Municipality issued ID with photo including Military ID.
  • Current Alien Registration Card (Green Card) with photo.
  • Current Passport with recent photo.
  • Current Palm Beach County Dual Enrolled and High School Juniors testing under SB 1908, can use High School ID.

 

Placement Testing & College Policies

  • A paid test receipt (if applicable) and current government issued photo ID presented at time of testing.
  • For the PERT College Placement test and the Accuplacer College Level Math (CLM) exam, students may not retake the PERT on the same day and remediation is required prior to the 3rd attempt. For details, refer to the PERT on the Test Information webpage.
  • There is a thirty day wait period for retesting on the full Accuplacer exam, TABE, LOEP, and NFSI examinations. Exception: TABE may be taken before 30 days if approved by the Vocational Preparatory Lab (VPI) Learning Specialist.
  • Current students enrolled and attending a preparatory class cannot retake the PERT until the end of the current semester.
  • Only examinees are permitted in the test area. The Test Center reserves the right to refuse test administration to an individual if unsupervised children are present.

 

Make-Up & Distance Learning Exams

  • Must provide last name of your professor, the course number, and which test you want to take.
  • Check with your professor for information about your test, e.g., deadline date, time allowed,  or authorized aids you should bring.
  • Testing Center staff will adhere strictly to your professor's written instructions and deadline dates. They are not authorized to make any exceptions.
  • Examinees are not permitted to start the Make-Up or Distance Learning test unless there is sufficient time, as indicated by the Professor, to complete the exam prior to Test Center closing.
  • Test Center personnel cannot transfer classroom materials, homework assignments, projects, etc., from the students to professor and vice versa.

 

Test Fee Waivers

  • Fee waivers are provided for students who missed a test due to jury duty, military duty, death of an immediate family member, college sponsored activity, or religious reasons. Documentation is required and must be presented at the Testing Center.
  • No fee for students taking Distance Learning Exams (unless test is a make-up) and students approved for accommodations.

 

Cell Phones & Personal Belongings

  • Any personal items are required to be in a secure/locked locker outside the testing room.
  • Cell phones and electronic devices must be turned off completely before being placed in the locker.
  • Hats, outdoor coats, watches, pens/pencils, drinks, food, candy, gum and weapons are strictly prohibited in the testing rooms.
  • Test Center personnel are not responsible for lost, stolen, or broken items checked.

Cheating & Testing

  • Test Center personnel closely monitor testing rooms. Cheating may include making an effort to remove test materials, notes, or scratch paper from the testing room, not following test procedures, failing to stop work when time is called, disturbing or attempting to get answers from another examinee, using unauthorized aids during testing, accessing unauthorized internet links, and disregarding proctor instructions.
  • An examinee cheating may be referred for possible disciplinary action to the Dean of Student Services.
  • Cheating on course exam results in immediate notification to Professor for possible disciplinary action.
  • Be advised that all testing rooms are monitored by a surveillance system.

There are four Test Center locations available to provide a variety of tests and support services for students, faculty, and the local community.

Important Note: 

  • All tests are not offered at every campus.
  • Some tests are by appointment only, others are not.
