Types of Aid

Financial Aid can be a confusing process, especially if you're a new student. Help and guidance are always available at Palm Beach State College's Office of Financial Aid.

Financial aid comes in a variety of forms:

Grants: Grants are often based on financial need and do not need to be repaid. There are Federal, State and Institutional grants available to students.

Scholarships: Scholarships generally do not have to be repaid. They are funds awarded to students based on academic or other achievements.

Loans:  A loan is money you borrow and must pay back with interest. Remember to only borrow what you need.

Work-Study & Work Experience Programs: The Federal Work-Study Program is an opportunity to earn a portion of your college expenses through on-campus part-time employment.  The Florida Work Experience Program (FWEP) is a need-based program providing eligible Florida students work experiences to complement and reinforce educational and career goals
